Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi adopts cashless payment system

The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi has introduced a cashless payment option, making transactions more convenient for those who prefer not to carry cash. Previously, the embassy only accepted cash payments, but now an app-based e-wallet system is available.

According to a Khaleej Times report, the digital wallet, PayIt, is powered by First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) and can be downloaded from the App Store or Play Store. Any UAE resident with a valid Emirates ID can register for a PayIt account, regardless of their bank.

The app is free to use, with no additional fees or charges. Users do not need to have a bank account with FAB; they can use any bank to ‘cash in’ to their PayIt accounts.

“We invite our kababayan (countrymen) to avail themselves of this new service feature. Please be assured that the embassy continues to look for ways to let our kababayan have an efficient and pleasant experience at the embassy,” said Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso Ferdinand A. Ver, in the same report.

The collaboration between the Philippine Embassy and FAB is part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the UAE and the Philippines.
