Filipino industrial engineers gathered at JTI Events in Port Saeed, Deira, on the occasion of the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers – UAE Chapter’s first anniversary, an afternoon built around professional fellowship and forward planning for the organization founded in 2025.
Carrying the theme “The Journey That Shaped Us, The Vision That Drives Us,” the gathering drew practitioners from multiple emirates who have backed the chapter since its early days. Attendees moved through keynote discussions and milestone presentations, with stretches set aside for members to trade industry knowledge and build new working relationships.
Organizers structured the chapter’s work around four commitments: connecting Filipino industrial engineers across sectors, acknowledging the past year’s wins and setbacks, spotlighting stories of professional achievement, and reinforcing a shared push toward innovation and continuous learning.
A representative framed the occasion as both a look back and a pledge. “We started with a vision to build a home for Filipino industrial engineers here in the UAE – a place where we can learn, lead, and lift each other up,” the representative said. “This first anniversary is not just a celebration of what we have done, but a promise of what we will achieve together.”
The celebration’s centerpiece was a group portrait in which members held up the chapter banner, an image leaders described as a marker of the community’s collective identity. In their remarks, those leaders tied the work of Filipino industrial engineers to the UAE’s broader industrial development, arguing that the profession’s expertise feeds efficiency and sustainability on projects at home and abroad.
Going into its second year under the banner “One Profession. One Community. One Vision,” the chapter has set its sights on wider membership, dedicated professional development programming, and closer partnerships with academic institutions and fellow engineering bodies across the country.
