A Filipino boy wonder has stolen the spotlight at the 2025 Expo City Half Marathon, capturing hearts and setting an inspiring example for young athletes across the UAE. The event, known for attracting elite runners and fitness enthusiasts from various Emirates and regions, featured a stunning performance by Fujairah’s own Fermin III, an eight-year-old running prodigy who dominated the 5KM race.
Competing in the 6 to 9 years old (Boys) category, Fermin III proved that age is no barrier to achieving greatness. With an incredible display of speed, endurance, and determination, he not only finished first but did so with a commanding lead of over three minutes ahead of his closest competitors. This remarkable feat has made him a celebrated figure among the Filipino community in the UAE, who are now rallying behind this young champion.
The Expo City Half Marathon, which offers 21KM, 10KM, and 5KM race categories, saw participants run through the iconic landmarks of Expo City Dubai. Runners traversed traffic-free routes around the World Pavilions, Al Wasl Dome, Expo Mall, and Expo Village Residences, creating a scenic and inspiring backdrop for their athletic endeavors.
