Students and school staff in the UAE are in for an extended mid-term breather next month, with the Ministry of Education confirming a five-day official pause from May 25 to 29 for the third academic term’s Eid Al Adha holiday. Bookended by weekends, the break stretches to nine consecutive days off.
The ministry’s approved academic calendar for the third and final term maps out the remainder of the school year in detail, covering examinations, results releases, and holidays through to the close of the academic year.
Classes resume June 1, with mock examinations scheduled for June 15 and 16 to gauge student readiness ahead of final assessments. The ministry said the simulated exams will help schools identify gaps and direct support where it is most needed.
An official holiday for the Islamic New Year falls on June 17, after which the academic calendar enters its most consequential stretch. End-of-term examinations run from June 24 through July 3, covering all grade levels.
July 3 is designated as the last official school day of the academic year. Students who did not meet passing requirements will have a second opportunity through makeup examinations from July 6 to 9.
End-of-year results will be processed and released on July 12 and 13, ahead of re-sit examinations set for July 14 to 17, with re-sit outcomes announced on July 20.
Administrative and teaching staff are scheduled for professional development training from July 13 to 17, with summer leave beginning July 18 following the completion of all examination, results, and training responsibilities.
