The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has warned of potential rainfall in the eastern and southern parts of the UAE on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, motorists have been cautioned about reduced visibility due to fog, which has been affecting the country for the past few days. A red alert was issued this morning, indicating that horizontal visibility may drop significantly until 8:30 am.
Abu Dhabi Police also urged drivers to be cautious and adhere to speed limits displayed on electronic boards due to the foggy conditions. In addition, the NCM has alerted residents to a tropical storm in the northeast Arabian Sea that could have indirect effects on the UAE’s weather.
The weather is expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with a possibility of rain in some areas. Despite the rainfall, humidity levels are predicted to rise by night and Sunday morning, potentially leading to fog or mist in some coastal and internal areas. Light to moderate winds, occasionally freshening and causing dust, are anticipated. The sea conditions are expected to be slight to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
