UAE police now using drones to respond faster to accidents and emergencies

Drones are increasingly becoming an essential part of daily life in the UAE — and now, they’re helping save lives.

Ras Al Khaimah Police have launched a high-tech Air Support Platform that integrates drone surveillance with emergency response systems. The platform enables real-time monitoring of incidents, helping authorities take immediate action based on live visuals from the scene.

The system allows the operation room to remotely control drones and quickly assess on-ground situations such as accidents, crimes, traffic jams, and even natural disasters. The live feed supports faster decision-making and more accurate dispatching of emergency services.

“The air support platform has a feature for quick communication with emergency teams that allows automatic transmission of event information,” explained Colonel Dr Abdullah Ahmed Al-Naeemi, Director of the Operations Department.

Specialised teams have undergone extensive training to operate the drones in line with strict technical and security protocols.

Authorities said the platform will soon be used in broader applications, including event monitoring and routine patrol support, further enhancing public safety in the emirate.
