In response to the massive flooding caused by record rains this week in the UAE, several hotels and electronic companies have stepped up to support affected residents.
Some hotels are offering free or discounted rates to those impacted, demonstrating solidarity with the community during these challenging times. Additionally, major electronic retailer Jumbo Electronics is providing complimentary repair services for devices damaged during the storms.
“These initiatives underscore the vital role that private organizations can play in assisting those affected by crises,” remarked a spokesperson for the participating firms.
However, amidst these acts of generosity, concerns have been raised about some hotels hiking prices during the emergency.
Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, founder and chairman of Al Habtoor Group, announced the provision of hotel rooms to affected families, emphasizing the importance of ensuring their safety and stability. Al Habtoor Group had previously provided support during similar crises, exemplifying its commitment to the community.
Premier Inn Middle East has also announced a special weekly room rate to aid Dubai residents impacted by the recent storms, providing a safe and affordable refuge during these extraordinary times.
Meanwhile, Jumbo Electronics has extended its support by offering free repair and maintenance services for electronic gadgets and appliances damaged during the rains, irrespective of where they were purchased.
“We understand the distress that comes with damaged devices. That’s why, starting immediately, we are extending our support,” said Vikas Chadha, CEO of Jumbo Electronics Ltd.
