The UAE has climbed into the global top 10 exporters of goods for the first time, according to a new World Trade Organisation report — a milestone announced by Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The country jumped from 17th to 9th place in just five years, Sheikh Mohammed said in a post on X, citing the WTO data as evidence of the country’s strengthening position in international trade.
Total foreign trade reached Dh6 trillion ($1.6 trillion) last year, a 15 percent rise from the year prior, with the country posting a Dh584 billion surplus across goods and services with global markets.
“Betting on the UAE is a bet on growth, prosperity and a better future,” Sheikh Mohammed said.
