Fifty-two projectiles launched from Iran were shot down by UAE air defence systems on April 8, the same day a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran was announced, the Ministry of Defence said.
The interceptions comprised 17 ballistic missiles and 35 unmanned aerial vehicles. No deaths or injuries were recorded in connection with Tuesday’s attacks.
Since Iranian strikes began, the UAE’s air defence network has neutralised a cumulative total of 537 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles, and 2,256 UAVs — figures that reflect the sustained scale of the assault the country has faced.
The human toll from the conflict has been considerable. Two Emirati servicemen have been killed, along with a Moroccan civilian who was contracted to the Armed Forces. Civilian fatalities have reached 10, with victims carrying Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, Indian, and Egyptian nationalities.
Injuries across the duration of the conflict now stand at 224, affecting individuals from more than 30 countries. Among those hurt are nationals from the Philippines, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Russia, Sweden, Nigeria, Indonesia, and Ghana, alongside citizens from several Gulf and Arab states.
