Hitting a daily step target can now earn discounts at Ibn Battuta Mall, where a wellness drive called Walk to Unlock invites visitors to clock distance across the property’s themed sections in exchange for retailer offers. The Dubai Retail–operated mall opened the initiative on 5 June 2026, pitching it as a way to fold light exercise into a routine visit.
The mechanics run through FITZE, a step-tracking app participants download before arriving. Once inside, walkers follow a marked indoor route — signposted by floor stickers and encouraging prompts — and aim for one of three thresholds: 6,000, 8,000, or 12,000 steps. Reaching a milestone unlocks deals from taking-part stores, which are redeemed by showing the recorded step count at the relevant outlet. The app logs progress as the walker moves, covering all six of the mall’s regionally inspired courts.
Rewards span several retail categories, among them dining, fashion, and wellness. Outlets signed on include Paul Bakery & Restaurant, Joyalukkas Jewellery, The Coterie, and Fun City, with the complete roster of participating tenants and their respective offers listed inside the FITZE app.
The step challenge runs each day during operating hours through 1 August 2026, overlapping with Dubai Summer Surprises, which begins 3 July. Alongside the walking campaign, the mall is staging a series of indoor runs on selected Sundays — 5 July, 9 August, 13 September, and 4 October — with races starting at 7:00am over distances of 2.5km, 5km, and 10km, equating to one, two, and four laps. A finale party is scheduled for 9 August 2026.
