Residents seeking to validate medical leave documents can do so at no cost, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has confirmed, pointing the public toward its website and smart application as the channels handling these requests.
The procedure varies according to how long a person has been signed off work. Leaves running for five days or fewer move through the system automatically, with no supporting paperwork required from the applicant.
Longer absences carry an additional requirement. When a leave extends past the five-day mark, the applicant must upload both a copy of the sick leave and the accompanying medical report before the attestation can be finalised.
A separate condition applies when someone files on another person’s behalf. In such cases, an accompanying individual is required to provide documentation establishing the relationship to the patient, submitted alongside the copy of the sick leave and the patient’s medical report.
