A 60-year-old man from Pandi, Bulacan was arrested at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 after authorities found 11 live bullets in his carry-on bag. The passenger, bound for Cagayan de Oro, was detained by the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSEGROUP) when Office for Transportation Security personnel discovered the .22 caliber ammunition during a routine security check.
According to a PhilStar report, the man was unable to present any legal documentation for possessing the bullets, violating Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. He was immediately taken into custody.
“This arrest underscores our ongoing commitment to airport safety and strict law enforcement,” said Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano, director of the PNP-AVSEGROUP.
