Saudi Arabia to debut on Miss Universe stage with first-ever representative

Saudi Arabia is poised to make a historic entrance onto the Miss Universe stage with the appointment of Rumy Alqahtani as its inaugural representative. Rumy, a noted fashion model, took to Instagram to share her excitement about this significant milestone.

“Honored to participate in Miss Universe 2024,” Rumy expressed in Arabic.

Having previously represented Saudi Arabia in various pageants such as Miss Planet International and Miss Global Asia, Rumy’s selection marks a momentous occasion for the country’s participation in international beauty pageants.

As preparations for the 73rd Miss Universe pageant, scheduled to be held in Mexico later this year, intensify, other nations are also gearing up for the prestigious event. New Zealand, for instance, will be represented by Filipina-Kiwi actress Franki Russell.

In the meantime, anticipation is mounting in the Philippines as the country prepares to crown its new Miss Universe Philippines queen. The organization has been actively introducing this year’s candidates on social media platforms, showcasing their official headshots, evening gown photos, swimsuit shots, and introduction videos, generating excitement among pageant enthusiasts worldwide.
