Sana all! 10-day holiday for public sector employees in Sharjah

In a move aimed at celebrating Eid Al Fitr, Sharjah’s government has declared a one-week holiday for its public sector employees starting Monday, April 8. The holiday will extend until Sunday, April 14, with regular working hours resuming on Monday, April 15.

This decision follows the UAE government’s announcement of a one-week holiday for public sector employees nationwide, setting the stage for a festive period across the country.

For federal employees in Sharjah, who typically observe a four-day work-week with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off, the holiday grants a 10-day break. This extended period marks the culmination of Ramadan, the month-long fasting period in Islam.

Regardless of the moon sighting, the holiday will commence on April 8, aligning with the traditional end of Ramadan. Eid Al Fitr, which falls on the first of Shawwal in the Islamic calendar, is a time of celebration and joy for Muslims worldwide.
