Residents across the UAE can expect rain over the next few days as the country transitions to cooler weather. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts that from September 28 to 30, convective clouds will form in the eastern, southern, and internal areas, bringing potential rainfall. Additionally, rain may also be seen in northern regions on September 29.
According to a Khaleej Times report, the coming days will also see higher humidity levels, with fog and mist likely in the early mornings. As temperatures continue to drop following the autumn equinox on September 22, daytime highs are expected to fall below 40°C, with cooler temperatures particularly noticeable during the night.
Earlier forecasts by the NCM had indicated rain during September, alongside fresh winds that sometimes cause dusty conditions and reduced visibility. These weather changes are partly attributed to the weakening of the Indian monsoon depression and desert thermal lows over the Arabian Peninsula.
With the summer heat fading, residents are beginning to enjoy lighter winds and more comfortable weather. As the country moves towards winter, nights will gradually lengthen, and cooler conditions are expected to become more prevalent by mid-October.
The transition from peak summer began with the sighting of the Suhail star on August 24, marking the start of the ‘Sufriya’ period. This phase typically lasts for 40 days, after which the weather gradually stabilizes in the lead-up to the cooler winter season.
