Foreign airlines will be permitted to resume flights through Hamad International Airport in Doha after Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority declared a gradual return to operations, citing the results of a comprehensive safety review.
The authority confirmed it had coordinated with relevant national bodies before publishing a Notice to Airmen — known as a NOTAM — to formally signal the resumption. It said all required precautions to protect passengers and aviation staff are now in place.
“All flights and related operations will be carried out in accordance with the highest internationally recognized safety and security standards,” the authority stated.
The announcement comes against a broader regional backdrop that remains unsettled. A two-week ceasefire between Iran and the United States has so far held, pausing a campaign of strikes that has claimed more than 3,300 lives since February 28.
Diplomatic efforts, though active, have yet to yield a breakthrough. Direct talks between Washington and Tehran — a rare occurrence — took place in Pakistan on April 11 but concluded without any agreement. Mediators are working to organize a second round of negotiations in Islamabad.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said Sunday that the two sides remain far apart on core issues despite what he described as some progress at the table.
