First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos received an unusual but heartfelt anniversary gift from President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. — a bouquet made entirely of fresh vegetables, which he personally picked from a market to mark their 33rd wedding anniversary on Friday.
Liza shared the moment on Instagram, saying the gesture stood out among the many bouquets she has received over the years.
“After 33 years, it’s the quiet gestures that stay with you,” she wrote. “I’ve received many beautiful bouquets, but this one felt especially meaningful… chosen by my husband himself, straight from the market. Simple, thoughtful and full of love. Ang sweet talaga ng asawa ko — double brownie points!”
The President, for his part, posted a tribute on Facebook reflecting on their three decades together.
“Through every season, in family, in work, and in everything in between, we have walked it together,” Marcos wrote. “You have been my constant. Steady, wise, and always looking after our family, while never losing sight of others. Happy anniversary, Liza. Thank you for the life we have built together.”
