The Islamic Da’wah Council of the Philippines, Inc. (IDCP) has withdrawn the halal certificates it issued for four canned beef loaf products, saying they no longer meet its halal requirements.
In a notice dated July 27, 2026, the Manila-based certification body said the withdrawal covers Argentina Beef Loaf Regular, Argentina Beef Loaf Hot and Spicy, 555 Beef Loaf, and Lucky 7 Beef Loaf. As a result, IDCP said it can no longer guarantee that the four products are halal in accordance with its standards.
The council did not specify in the notice which requirements the products failed to meet.
Halal certification signifies that a product complies with Islamic dietary law, covering not only ingredients but also sourcing, handling, and processing. IDCP, a federation of Muslim organizations, is among the Philippines’ long-established halal certifying bodies and is a member of the World Halal Council. A withdrawal means affected products may continue to carry the certifier’s halal mark on existing packaging even though the certification is no longer valid, a gap that typically prompts manufacturers to seek recertification or clarify their status to consumers.
Argentina and 555 are among the canned meat brands owned by Century Pacific Food Inc., one of the country’s largest branded food companies. Neither Century Pacific nor the makers of Lucky 7 had publicly commented on the withdrawal as of this writing.
Consumers who observe halal dietary requirements are advised to verify a product’s current certification status directly with IDCP, which maintains a certificate verification system on its website.
