Pastor Apollo Quiboloy ordered arrested and detained by Senate committee

Pastor Apollo Quiboloy has been ordered arrested and detained by the Senate following his persistent refusal to participate in the chamber’s investigation into allegations of his involvement in various crimes.

The Senate committee on women, children, family relations, and gender equality, spearheaded by Senator Risa Hontiveros, issued the order. Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri signed the order on Tuesday, March 19.

According to a one-page document from Zubiri’s office, Quiboloy was instructed to be detained at the Office of the Sergeant-At-Arms until he complies with the committee’s summons to testify or resolves the contempt charge against him.

“The Sergeant-At-Arms is hereby directed to carry out and implement this Order and make a return hereof within 24 hours from its enforcement,” the document further states.
