Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) unveiled a new feature allowing parents to pre-book taxis for school transportation. This move comes in response to the growing demand for taxi services in areas not serviced by traditional school buses.
As of Tuesday, parents can make these reservations on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis through RTA’s Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) app. The application, compatible with both Apple and Android devices, now includes the ‘In-Safe Hands’ service.
RTA emphasized that the addition aims to boost confidence in their taxi services, ensuring speed, tracking, and fulfilling customer needs. They stated, “The ‘In-Safe Hands’ service empowers parents to arrange taxi rides for their children’s school commutes, specifically targeting regions lacking school bus coverage.”
Abdullah Ibrahim Al Meer, director of DTC Digitisation and Commercial Development, highlighted the dedication of the DTC to meet customer demands by delivering exceptional services. He remarked on the growth in the taxi service’s popularity, noting a surge of 122% in demand from 2021 to 2022.
