OWWA releases list of new college scholars for 2026-2027 school year

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has released the list of qualifiers for its two flagship college scholarship programs for School Year 2026-2027, congratulating 1,000 passers of the Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) and the top 20 qualifiers of the Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP).

In a post on its official Facebook page, the agency addressed the new scholars as “mga ISKOWWA” and directed applicants to a link and QR code carrying the complete roster of names. The full list is accessible at https://bit.ly/2026-EDSP-CMWSP-Qualifiers.

The EDSP is OWWA’s competitive educational assistance program in which dependents of active OWWA member-OFWs compete for a slot by passing the annual qualifying examination administered by the Department of Science and Technology–Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI). An allowance of P60,000 per school year is given to each EDSP scholar, along with training and other learning enhancement activities. The exams were held on February 21 and 22 and March 7 and 8, 2026.

The CMWSP is extended to deserving migrant workers and their immediate dependents pursuing priority courses in Science and Technology. It provides an allowance of P60,120 per year. Unlike the EDSP, a CMWSP scholar may be the OFW or a qualified dependent, and only the top performers in the national examination are selected—during the 2024-2025 cycle, the committee selected only 20 top qualifiers based on their examination results.

Qualifiers will be contacted by their respective OWWA Regional Welfare Offices for the next steps and submission of required documents. For inquiries, OWWA may be reached through its website at owwa.gov.ph or the OWWA Hotline 1348.
