More than 10,000 parking spaces across five sectors in Mussafah are now subject to paid parking fees, as Abu Dhabi pushes ahead with the second phase of a rollout that began in January 2026.
The Integrated Transport Centre, operating under the Department of Municipalities and Transport, activated the system Monday across sectors M7, M8, M9, M14, and M15. The total count stands at 10,010 standard spaces, alongside designated bays for people of determination.
Motorists parking in the newly covered sub-parking spaces will be charged AED 2 per hour. Payment can be made through the Darb and Tam applications, via SMS, or through payment devices installed in the area.
Authorities framed the expansion as part of a broader push to bring order to parking use in high-traffic commercial zones. Beyond easing congestion, the ITC cited the move as a measure that supports the flow of workers and visitors, with downstream benefits expected for commercial activity in the district.
The January rollout marked the first phase of the Mussafah paid parking programme. Monday’s activation extends that coverage to the additional sectors while keeping the same fee structure in place.
