One Za’abeel in Dubai clinches Guinness World Record for longest cantilevered building

One of Dubai’s latest architectural marvels, One Za’abeel, has secured its place in the Guinness World Records as the ‘longest cantilevered building’ globally, thanks to its impressive structure known as ‘The Link’ concourse.

The iconic twin-tower development, strategically located near the Dubai World Trade Center roundabout, officially clinched the prestigious title on March 1. Developed by the Investment Corporation of Dubai, One Za’abeel joins the ranks of the city’s record-breaking buildings with its latest achievement.

The Link, spanning a length of 230 meters and soaring 100 meters above ground level, stands as a striking feature between One Za’abeel’s skyscrapers. Its record-setting cantilever extends an impressive 67.277 meters beyond the main tower, capturing the world’s attention.

Remarkably, the construction of The Link was executed in two phases over a mere 16 days, seamlessly integrating with the city’s bustling traffic below without disruption. Phase one witnessed the monumental lift of a steel structure weighing over 8,500 tonnes, using over 110 special jacks and heavy-duty strand jacks, while phase two saw the installation of the 900-plus-ton cantilevered structure.

Beyond its Guinness World Record title, The Link boasts an array of attractions, including eight Michelin-inspired restaurants and the UAE’s longest suspended Infinity pool, spanning the impressive 230-meter length. Issam Galadari, Director of One Za’abeel Holdings, expressed pride in witnessing One Za’abeel come to life with activity, highlighting the project’s commitment to innovation, excellence, and ambition.

In addition to luxurious residences, One Za’abeel hosts the One&Only resort, the first ‘SIRO’ branded fitness and recovery hotel, One&Only Private Homes, Grade A office spaces, and a retail podium, adding further allure to this architectural gem.
