Eleven overseas Filipino workers walked away with the largest individual grants of P100,000 each as the Department of Migrant Workers rolled out P4.075 million in total AKSYON Fund aid to 66 beneficiaries during a September 14, 2026 event at the Batangas Provincial Capitol.
The remaining assistance was split across two tiers: nine recipients were given P75,000 apiece, while the bulk of the group — 46 workers and their families — received P50,000 each. The distribution formed the core of “Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat,” carried out jointly by the agency and the Batangas provincial government.
DMW Assistant Secretary Violeta D. Illescas, who led the turnover alongside provincial officials, framed the payouts as a signal of sustained state attention to migrant workers. “Ang AKSYON Fund at ang ating mga inilapit na serbisyo ngayong araw ay direktang tulong upang muling makabangon ang ating mga OFW at maramdaman na laging nakatutok ang gobyerno sa kanilang kapakanan,” she said.
Beyond the cash grants, the agency fielded 15 additional clients at its on-site Service Desk, handling requests that ranged from legal help to livelihood applications and unresolved online concerns. Personnel also tracked an off-site job fair at Robinsons Place Lipa, working with recruiters including 21st Century Manpower Resources Inc. and Maersk-Philippines Crewing Inc.
The provincial government used the same occasion to honor its retirees, outstanding students, and scholars. Supporting the recognition were agencies spanning welfare, education, agriculture, and environmental services — among them OWWA, DSWD, TESDA, CHED, the Department of Agriculture, DENR, BFAR, the National Irrigation Administration, and the Department of Health.
