No Ebola cases detected in UAE, health ministry assures public

There are no recorded cases of Ebola anywhere in the United Arab Emirates, the Ministry of Health and Prevention said, moving to reassure residents amid concern over a traveler who later tested positive for the virus abroad.

The case involved a person who passed through the UAE before flying onward to Uganda, where the infection was confirmed several days after arrival. According to the ministry, that individual did not enter or seek treatment at any health facility while in the country.

Officials said the UAE’s surveillance system had already triggered its standard response once the situation came to light. Those steps included assessing the level of risk, tracing anyone who may have come into contact with the traveler, and applying approved precautionary measures aligned with both national protocols and international benchmarks.

Throughout the episode, the ministry said it has remained in close contact with the World Health Organization and other international health bodies, coordinating its handling of the matter with those partners.

The ministry described the country’s health readiness as operating at advanced levels, with monitoring of global developments continuing alongside heightened surveillance.

Residents were cautioned against spreading unverified claims, with the ministry stressing that people should rely solely on official channels for accurate information.
