New bus service that connects Sharjah and Muscat, Oman to start on February 27

A groundbreaking development in regional transportation was announced by Oman’s National Transport Company, Mwasalat, in collaboration with Sharjah’s Roads and Transport Authority. Starting from February 27, a new bus service will link Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, with Muscat, Oman, facilitating daily commutes between these two bustling cities.

The service is set to include four daily trips, with two departures from each city. The route will pass through Shinas, offering a scenic journey for passengers traveling between the two destinations. This initiative is a significant step towards enhancing connectivity and providing efficient travel options for residents and visitors of both regions.

Passengers opting for this service will be allowed a generous luggage allowance, including 23kg of check-in baggage and an additional 7kg for hand luggage, accommodating the needs of travelers for various purposes. The fare structure is designed to be accessible, with prices starting at 10 Oman Rials (approximately Dh95.40) to 29 Oman Rials (around Dh276.66), catering to a wide range of budgets.

The schedule is tailored for convenience; from Sharjah, the first bus will leave Al Jubail Bus Station at 6.30am, arriving at Azaiba Bus Station in Muscat by 2.30pm. A second service departs at 4pm, reaching its destination at 11.50pm. Conversely, buses from Muscat will set off at 6.30am and 4pm, with the former arriving in Sharjah at 3.40pm and the latter at 1.10am, ensuring options for early risers and late travelers alike.
