The Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Dubai and the Northern Emirates has announced its transition to a fully online contract verification system for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), marking a significant move to streamline document processing and enhance service delivery.
In its Advisory No. 11, Series of 2025, MWO-Dubai confirmed that preparations are ongoing for the pilot implementation of this digital system, which will replace the current in-person submission of documents for employment contract verification. The office assured the public that the new platform will feature an integrated set of services aimed at simplifying and securing the contract verification process.
Among the features to be introduced include online employment contract verification, a secured eKYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) system with image matching and liveness check, smart document upload and validation, and online visa and identity verification. The platform will also allow OFWs to track their application status in real time, make payments via a secure gateway, and receive digital copies of their verified documents along with official receipts.
Further improvements include integration with the system for Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) issuance, availability of a dedicated email for customer support, an English and Tagalog user guide, and built-in user feedback features. The MWO emphasized that the system will be fully compliant with data privacy regulations.
While the exact launch date of the pilot has yet to be announced, MWO-Dubai advised the public to monitor its official website (www.mwodubai.org) and Facebook page (facebook.com/MWODubaiAndNorthernEmirates) for updates expected in the coming weeks.
For OFWs with confirmed flights who urgently need contract verification, MWO-Dubai will continue to accommodate in-person visits under a special schedule. Those with flights falling on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday are advised to visit the office one working day before their flight. Those flying on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday should go to MWO-Dubai on Thursday, Friday, or one working day prior to their departure.
In cases where the OFW has already returned to the Philippines without verifying their documents, authorized representatives may still process the contract verification on their behalf by visiting MWO-Dubai one to three days before the worker’s OEC appointment in the Philippines or two to five days before the worker’s flight back to the UAE.
