Trust and satisfaction with the Philippine National Police remain above majority levels nationwide, with regional gaps emerging between Mindanao and Metro Manila, according to a fresh OCTA Research survey.
The Tugon ng Masa poll, fielded from March 19 to 25, 2026, found that 63 percent of Filipinos expressed trust in the PNP, while 61 percent said they were satisfied with how the police force performed in the first quarter of the year.
Mindanao recorded the highest trust figures among all regions at 74 percent, with Visayas at 66 percent, Balanced Luzon at 59 percent, and the National Capital Region at 54 percent — the lowest among the four geographic groupings surveyed.
The satisfaction ratings followed a similar pattern. Mindanao respondents again led at 69 percent, trailed by Visayas at 63 percent, Balanced Luzon at 59 percent, and the NCR at 52 percent.
The poll covered 1,200 respondents nationwide and carried a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.
The NCR’s comparatively lower scores on both trust and satisfaction suggest a more measured view of the PNP’s performance among Metro Manila residents, even as the agency retains majority approval across all regions polled.
