A day after her husband was named a person of interest in connection with the search for Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, TV host Mariel Padilla took to Instagram Stories with a wordless but pointed repost.
The illustration, originally shared by the Instagram page Fact by Google and reposted by Mariel on Friday, May 15, depicted two men standing on separate icebergs. One accuses the other of being a “bad” person, seeing only a visible “sin” while remaining blind to the many “good actions” hidden beneath the surface. The other figure, meanwhile, is widely perceived as good despite a host of unseen wrongdoings.
Mariel offered no caption or explanation alongside the post.
The timing drew attention. Senator Robin Padilla has been under public scrutiny following the National Bureau of Investigation’s identification of him as a person of interest in its efforts to locate dela Rosa, who faces an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court over alleged involvement in the drug war killings carried out under former President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration.
Separate from the ICC-related controversy, Robin had also drawn attention earlier after a public clash with Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, from whom he formally demanded an apology over an incident in which Pangilinan raised his voice at him during a Senate plenary session.
