Authorities presented P3,000.00 in marked money after finally apprehending a man accused of repeatedly harassing a female overseas Filipino worker by threatening to spread their sex video.
The suspect faces charges under Republic Act 9995, the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009; RA 10175, the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012; along with Grave Threats and Extortion under the Revised Penal Code in connection with the incident.
According to the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP) through NAIA Police Station 3, the arrest happened while the man was holding the marked bills—only a portion of the total P10,000.00 he was demanding from the victim.
The suspect arranged the meeting at the Tambayan Food Hall in the Arrival Area of NAIA Terminal 3. There, once the woman handed over the cash, AVSEGROUP personnel immediately took him into custody.
Before the entrapment took shape, it was the OFW’s 34-year-old husband who approached authorities to report the harassment targeting his wife. The suspect allegedly insisted that unless the woman met him at the arrival area and produced the demanded sum, he would post their sex video on social media and also send it to the couple’s family and friends.
