A Kuwaiti man has been sentenced to six months in prison for hacking into and unlawfully accessing his wife’s mobile phone, according to a local media report.
Alongside the prison term, the court has imposed a fine of KD3,000 ($9,720), news website Almajilis reported.

Meanwhile, Kuwait has introduced new regulations for premarital medical tests, set to take effect in April. The updated rules apply to all couples getting married in the country, regardless of nationality. The initiative aims to safeguard public health, reduce genetic and infectious diseases, and align medical procedures with global standards.
Recent data from Kuwait’s Central Statistical Bureau revealed a decline in marriage rates and a surge in divorces. In 2023, the country recorded 11,166 marriages, with 83.1% involving Kuwaiti couples. However, divorces reached 5,932 cases, with a notably high rate among university-educated individuals.
