Kris Aquino, renowned actress and television host, is set to return to the Philippines after spending years in California to receive treatment for her autoimmune conditions. In a recent Instagram post, Aquino shared her decision to fly back home to start her second round of immunosuppressant infusions, which she described as a “gentler term for chemotherapy.”
“The reason I decided to go home is because I need to start my second immunosuppressant infusions in 2-3 weeks. Emotionally, I need the encouragement and unwavering faith my sisters, cousins, closest friends, and trusted team of doctors can provide,” Aquino stated. She added that the challenge to improve her health has now shifted to protecting her vital organs, calling it “the fight of my life.”
Aquino will be accompanied on her return by her son Bimby, whom she referred to as God’s greatest blessing and her source of strength. “They are flying home with me. A longer gratitude post when we get home. Bawal Sumuko. Tuloy po ang #Laban,” she added.
Aquino also extended her thanks to friends, healthcare professionals, and the Philippine Airlines team for their support throughout her health journey in the United States.
Fans, netizens, and fellow celebrities have expressed excitement over her decision to return to the Philippines. Earlier, her son Bimby hinted that Aquino might be returning for good in September or October. Last June, Aquino revealed a new romance with a Makati-based doctor, who has been a significant source of encouragement in her recovery and her decision to come home.
“He’s part of the reason why I’m confident I can come home because I know there’s someone who will help in taking care of me,” Aquino said in a previous interview.
