Khalid Al Ameri and Sunainaa Yella unfollow each other, fuelling split rumours

A reported engagement between Emirati content creator Khalid Al Ameri and South Indian actress Sunainaa Yella appears to have unravelled, with followers across South Asian and Gulf social media circles convinced the two have parted ways.

The actress, who turned 37 this year, had publicly referred to herself as “happily engaged” in the months after the romance went public, according to Gulf News. That status is now in doubt. Telugu Cinema and other entertainment outlets have framed the latest developments as a possible called-off engagement rather than a simple breakup.

The clearest trigger came from the pair’s own accounts. Observers noticed that Khalid and Sunainaa no longer follow one another on Instagram, and images showing them together have been pulled from both profiles. Among the deletions was a heavily circulated photo from December 2025 in which Sunainaa appeared in a purple saree beside Khalid, captioned “A beautiful night to remember الحمدلله.” That image had served as the couple’s first open acknowledgement of the relationship after roughly a year of guessing.

The guessing had its own long lead-up. Speculation first stirred in June 2024, when Sunainaa shared a photo of a hand that Khalid liked, followed by the two trading likes on posts featuring ringed hands. Fans pieced together a trail of supposed evidence over the following months — coordinated café outings in Dubai, matching high-tea shots, and shared plates of chaat — that kept the rumour alive long before either confirmed anything.

Sunainaa, a Hyderabad native, has worked across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema since debuting in the mid-2000s. She drew a Filmfare nomination for Neerparavai and has appeared in Theri and Sillu Karuppatti, more recently turning up in the series Inspector Rishi. She also featured in Sekhar Kammula’s Kubera, playing the wife of Nagarjuna’s character.

Khalid built his following on family-centred videos and cultural storytelling, and counts more than 3.2 million Instagram followers. His personal life drew sharper attention after his February 2024 divorce from Emirati influencer and skincare entrepreneur Salama Mohamed, with whom he has two sons.

As of now, neither party has issued any statement confirming or denying a split, leaving the engagement’s status entirely to public conjecture.
