Jeddah runway event to spotlight Filipino fashion and emerging designers

An upcoming fashion showcase in Jeddah will place Filipino creativity, mentorship, and cultural expression in the spotlight as designer Jace Ramos Domingo prepares to stage the second season of his signature runway event.

Scheduled for July 24 at 8 p.m. at Ramada Hotel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, The Jace Ramos Domingo Fashion Show returns with the theme “The Art of Becoming,” a concept centered on personal growth, creative development, and the evolving journey of designers and artists.

Unlike its inaugural edition, the second season expands its focus beyond Domingo’s own work by highlighting the achievements of aspiring designers he has trained. The event will feature more than 60 looks across multiple segments, combining professional collections with student presentations in a format that emphasizes education alongside fashion.

The show is expected to welcome up to 100 invited guests, including members of the Filipino and international communities in Jeddah, fashion enthusiasts, clients, media partners, sponsors, creatives, and supporters of Filipino culture. While admission will be ticketed, attendance will remain limited to preserve an exclusive viewing experience.

A major component of the program will be the Students Fashion Presentation, where four emerging designers—John Mar Sinilong, Roderic Gallardo, Helbert Canlas Quiambao, and Maryam Hechanova—will unveil original collections developed through their training in fashion design and dressmaking. Each participant will present a collection consisting of at least five creations.

The inclusion of student designers reflects Domingo’s growing commitment to mentorship, an element that has become increasingly central to his work as both a designer and instructor.

“Season 2 is bigger, more refined, and more meaningful,” Domingo shared with TGFM. “While Season 1 introduced the vision of The Jace Ramos Domingo Fashion Show, Season 2 expands that vision by featuring not only Jace Ramos Domingo’s own collections but also the works of his fashion students.”

The runway presentation will also showcase a Modern Filipino Fashion Segment featuring contemporary interpretations of Filipino-inspired clothing. Selected pieces from this collection will be available for purchase, giving attendees the opportunity to take home designs presented on the catwalk.

Domingo, a Filipino designer based in Jeddah, has built his fashion identity around combining cultural influences with modern styling. Through his collections, he continues to promote Filipino craftsmanship and design aesthetics to audiences outside the Philippines.

The evening will begin with an opening presentation designed to introduce the show’s central message before moving through the various fashion segments. The finale will feature Domingo’s newest signature collection, which highlights his latest creative direction and design evolution.

Organizers said support for the event has already begun to take shape, with previous clients and longtime supporters expressing their commitment to the production. Additional sponsors, collaborators, and partners are expected to be announced at a later date.

Beyond presenting garments, Domingo said he wants the event to leave a lasting impression on attendees.

“I hopes that attendees will leave the show inspired by the beauty, creativity, and evolution of Filipino fashion,” he said. “More than just a runway presentation, the show aims to celebrate talent, craftsmanship, mentorship, and cultural pride.”

“He wants the audience to see how fashion can tell stories of identity, transformation, and becoming — especially for Filipino creatives living and working abroad.”
