Imee says brother Bongbong is alive but dealing with health issues

Amid online speculation about the condition of Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Senator Imee Marcos urged the public to rely on verified information and pressed the Palace to release an official health update.

The senator rejected circulating claims that the president had died, describing them as untrue. She disclosed, however, that her brother has been experiencing health concerns that required repeated hospital visits, prompting her call for transparency.

“I’m very, very sad that he’s not being taken care of, and he’s not watching out for himself. I wish he does. There’s so much work. This is a crisis, and people need very trustworthy and determined leadership,” she said.

She emphasized that Filipinos deserve accurate and certified information regarding the chief executive’s condition, and encouraged him to prioritize his recovery.

Malacañang had earlier maintained that the president remains in good health. In public appearances in April, Marcos engaged in physical activities, including jogging and doing jumping jacks before a Palace event, and later participated in a rice distribution program where he carried sacks alongside local officials.
