How OFWs in Oman can claim $200 financial aid from DMW

Overseas Filipino workers in Oman whose jobs or income have been affected by the ongoing Middle East crisis may now apply for a one-time cash grant of USD 200 (OMR 75) from the Department of Migrant Workers.

The Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Muscat announced the aid program through Advisory No. 2, Series of 2026, signed by Labor Attaché II Alice Q. Visperas.

Who can apply

The financial assistance is open to land-based OFWs currently in Oman who experienced temporary or permanent job loss or reduced income because of the crisis. This covers workers affected by company closures, reduced workdays or work hours, airspace or border closures, repatriation, forced evacuation, or mobility restrictions.

Applicants must hold a valid employment or work visa in Oman. OFWs who are stranded in Oman — whether on assigned work, in transit, or in analogous circumstances — are also covered.

What documents to prepare

Applicants must submit the following:

  1. Accomplished Request for Assistance (RFA) Form
  2. Copy of passport bio page or travel document
  3. Proof of overseas employment — work visa, labor card, or employment contract
  4. Proof of job or income loss — any one of the following:
    • Duly signed certification from employer or principal
    • Pay slips showing a salary reduction
    • Duly signed termination notice from employer or principal
    • Visa cancellation document, if applicable
