‘Hindi po ako sumakay ng bangka’: Xian Gaza reacts to Alice Guo’s escape from the Philippines via boat

Businessman Xian Gaza shared his thoughts on social media about the recent news of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo fleeing the Philippines via boat. Guo, along with her siblings Wesley and Shiela, allegedly left the country using a “small boat” as stated in Shiela’s testimony to a Senate subcommittee investigating the escape.

Gaza, known for his controversial past involving bounced checks, contrasted his departure from the Philippines with Guo’s escape. He clarified that he left the country through standard procedures. “Umalis po ako ng Pilipinas on September 30, 2018 via Cebu Pacific flight bound to Hong Kong. Normal na proseso. As in. Hindi po ako sumakay ng bangka kasi wala naman akong mabigat na kaso,” he wrote on his Facebook post.

Gaza emphasized that his departure was above board and that his legal issues in the Philippines were minor. “Nag-issue po ako ng 11 na cheke noong 2013 tapos tumalbog lahat. That’s it. Yun na po yung nag-iisang case ko. Walang kakwenta-kwenta. Hindi ina-acknowledge sa abroad,” he explained.

He also refuted claims that he was hiding abroad due to numerous legal problems, stating that his immigration record is clear. “Ang totoo po niyan ay allowed po akong pumasok ng Pilipinas ever since. Wala po akong any hit sa Bureau of Immigration. Yung records ko po sa screen ng IO ay mas malinis pa kaysa sa mga na-offload noon,” he noted.

Gaza acknowledged his past involvement in scams but insisted that he has since turned over a new leaf. “Nagbagong-buhay lang po ako noong December 2022,” he shared, underscoring his commitment to transparency. “Facts lang po tayo dito. Walang whitewashing.”

Guo’s escape has drawn attention due to her alleged connections with Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) and the lack of official records of her departure. According to Shiela, they were picked up by a van after dinner and taken to an unknown port, where they embarked on a journey involving multiple boats, eventually reaching Malaysia.
