Hev Abi’s label denies ‘all allegations’ as rapper remains in custody

A search warrant targeting violations of firearms and drugs laws led to the arrest of Gabriel Abilla — known to fans as Hev Abi — along with six other individuals in Diliman, Quezon City last Tuesday, April 14, according to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-National Capital Region.

The CIDG-NCR confirmed the arrests were carried out under Oplan Paglalansag Omega. Authorities recovered a G3 Taurus Cal. 9mm pistol, a corresponding magazine, and 15 rounds of live ammunition in the course of the operation.

The search warrant covered alleged violations of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Abilla is now in police custody.

Urban Department PH, the rapper’s music label, issued a statement contesting the case, saying it denies “all allegations” tied to the arrest. The agency added that Abilla’s legal counsel has been in contact with authorities.

Hev Abi built a following through tracks such as “Para Sa Streets,” “Alam Mo Ba Girl,” and “Makasarili Malambing,” which gained traction across online platforms.
