Filipino comedy fans in the United Arab Emirates are in for a two-night treat this October, as Majore LiveX Events, in partnership with Ogie D. Productions, stages “Laugh Treat: The UAE Edition,” billed as “The Intelligent Push-up Live Comedy Concert.” The show runs October 2, 2026, in Abu Dhabi and October 3, 2026, in Dubai.
The lineup is anchored by veteran comedian, actor, and talent manager Ogie Diaz, who hosts both nights. Born Roger Diaz Pandaan in 1970, Diaz is best remembered as “Pekto” from the long-running sitcom Palibhasa Lalake and built a decades-long career as an entertainment reporter and host on programs such as Showbiz Lingo and Showbiz Inside Report. He has also managed high-profile talents including Liza Soberano and Vice Ganda, and today runs a popular vlog and his own talent stable.
Joining him is singer-comedienne Marissa Sanchez, a fixture of the Manila comedy-bar and concert circuit since the 1990s who blends music with self-deprecating humor, and who continues to mount her own concerts in the Philippines.
Rounding out the bill are two distinctive acts. Atty. Ed Chico, branded “The Legally Funny,” is a practicing litigator, law professor, and political analyst who has turned stand-up into a second career, headlining sold-out shows at the Music Museum and founding his “thinking comedy” brand. Also performing is stand-up comedian Dyosa Pockoh, a rising comic and actor known for appearances in TV series such as Batang Quiapo and Maging Sino Ka Man.
