Cancer screening, tuberculosis and HIV testing, and assessments for hypertension, diabetes and nutrition will be among the free services offered to overseas Filipino workers when the government opens a two-day health gathering this week. Eye and dental care, vaccinations for children, and even massage and haircut stations round out the lineup.
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is leading the 2026 Migrant Workers Health Summit, scheduled for June 30 to July 1 at the Occupational Safety and Health Center in Quezon City. The agency is running the event together with the Department of Health, the OFW Hospital, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, and other partner offices.
Beyond the clinical services, the summit places a spotlight on health concerns that frequently affect migrant workers, including women’s health and mental health, alongside expert-led talks on overall wellness. Representatives from the Philippine Red Cross, PhilHealth, and the Social Security System will also be on hand to assist attendees.
The DMW framed the program around the theme “Bayan, Bayani, Bayanihan para sa Kalusugan,” tying it to the ongoing observance of National Migrant Workers Month. OFWs and their families who wish to take part are asked to register through the official QR code released by the agency.
Organizers say a central goal of the gathering is to move government health services closer to migrant workers and their dependents while encouraging disease prevention.
