Passengers flying Oman Air to Manila will see a significant change to what their ticket covers, as the carrier has revised baggage allowances across its Economy Class fare structure on a range of international routes.
The airline’s Super Saver tier — previously limited to cabin baggage only — now includes 20kg of check-in baggage on flights to the Philippines, the Indian subcontinent, Cairo, Dar es Salaam, Baghdad, and Zanzibar. The Comfort fare on the same routes carries a 30kg allowance, while the Flex fare extends coverage to 40kg.
Oman Air attributed the changes to rising passenger demand for flexibility and added value across its services.
The baggage revision is not the only adjustment the airline has made to its Economy offerings in recent months. Earlier this year, it added a “cancel for any reason” option to the Super Saver fare alongside upgrades to its travel insurance products — moves that signal a broader push to make lower-tier fares more competitive.
Since rolling out its fare bundle system in 2024, Oman Air has recorded over one million passengers choosing to personalise their bookings through various add-ons, a figure the airline points to as evidence of sustained appetite for customisable travel options.
