Filipinos flying to Oman from anywhere in the world must have HIV test certificate, Oman Air confirms

Oman Air has put it on record: the HIV testing requirement for Filipino travelers bound for Oman took effect on March 1, 2026.

The airline has published a formal notice addressed to its trade partners confirming that a mandatory pre-arrival medical examination — specifically an HIV test — is now in force for all Philippine nationals traveling to the Sultanate of Oman. The notice, now visible on the airline’s official channels, puts in writing what dozens of Filipino travelers had already encountered firsthand in recent weeks: no HIV certificate, no boarding pass.

The circular states that a valid certificate issued by an accredited clinic or medical center must be presented prior to departure, and that the rule covers all Filipino adults regardless of which country they are flying from — including those based in GCC countries such as the UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain. Children remain exempt.
