A Filipino team from Batangas State University – The National Engineering University Integrated School emerged as Freestyle Innovation Category champions, sweeping multiple honors in the Freestyle competition as part of the eRobolution Dubai 2026, a virtual robotics and technology summit that drew more than 400 participants from eight countries between April 24 and 28, 2026.
The team composed of Edwin Jr. G. Macuha, Sherwin Vien Hienzo G. Melo, and Apoll Marc Venedict A. Hernandez, and was coached by Mr. Jomari B. Montalbo of Team SCOPE, won the Best Presenter, People’s Choice, Best Poster, and DOST-STII Choice awards.



Philippines also placed second and third in the Freestyle category. University of Baguio teammates Russel Jay C. Siloy and Jhoemir G. Miran, led by Julius Caesar D. Monico, finished 1st runners-up and also received the WIT PH Choice and Murata Choice awards.
The third-place slot went to University of Makati’s Group Trinoma, composed of Ian Derrick Cea, Sophia Mae Bantay, Kyler Osurman, and Andrea Mae Soriano, led by their coach Edgardo T. Cruz.
Fourth place goes to Team SitRight of University of Makati. Members are Jana Loreine B. Evangelio, Danica Mae N. Prambita, Andrea Mae Soriano, and Rhoan Balbas, led by coach Roel C. Traballo.
Fifth place goes to Hong Kong Computer Society’s Chong Ka Kin, who received both the Innovation Award for Special Educational Needs and the Erovoutika Choice Award. The Rising Star Award went to Sarthak Shyam Saraf of Cargo Cosmos, while Best Design was awarded to BITS Pilani Dubai Campus team Finbot Crew.



Part of the competition was the Capture the Crab Competition, a multidisciplinary format combining cybersecurity, robotics, artificial intelligence, and blockchain. Participants used the Robocrabs platform to solve digital puzzles encoded in a standardized format.
Overall, the UAE’s Al Ain University claimed the event’s top honor for this category, led by Coach Yaman Al Badawi. Team DWM from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, representing Al Ain University and coached by Yaman S. Albadawi, secured 1st place with members Anthony Lotfy, Mohamad Haitham, and Aslah Abdul Khadar. In 2nd place was PLAYER 1 from the Philippines, representing Valenzuela City School of Mathematics and Science under Coach Jerwin Ferma, with members Cyrus Allen Calixto, Matthew Justine Escarez, and Koert Lacanilao. CYBEMIN from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, also from Al Ain University and coached by Yaman S. Albadawi, placed 3rd with members Saher Afzal and Mohammed Aamir Koilywala. 4th place went to ANOOBIES from the Philippines, representing Infotech Development Systems Colleges Inc. under Coach Dr. Marilou B. Lansangan, with members Denzel N. Napili, Alexander M. Sapo, and Filbert Gonzales. Completing the top five, BFAAU TEAM from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, representing Al Ain University and coached by Yaman S. Albadawi, placed 5th with members Basel Jimmy Jarrah, Muhammed Faraj Ameer, and Ahmad Samir Allam.
UAE and Philippine teams traded performances in what organizers described as a competitive bilateral rivalry throughout the week.
The summit, organized by Erovoutika in partnership with the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani Dubai Campus, also included categories like RoboSim, Python programming, mathematics and science, Quiz Bee, and Erobot Challenge.
Organizers confirmed that a face-to-face edition — Robolution Dubai 2026 — is scheduled for November 14 to 16 in the UAE.
