A Filipino video editor and licensed skydiver celebrated the 127th anniversary of Philippine independence by skydiving above the Dubai skyline while unfurling the Philippine flag.
Estanislao “Butch” Pablijan Jr., who has been part of the multimedia production team at Skydive Dubai since 2011, performed the jump as a personal tribute to his homeland. Thousands of feet above the city, he released the national flag in a display of patriotism intended to honour overseas Filipinos far from home.
The skydive combined Pablijan’s professional background with his licensed expertise in the sport, capturing a moment that organisers described as a reflection of Filipino courage and pride on the world stage. High-resolution photos and video footage of the jump were recorded during the descent.
Pablijan has worked at Skydive Dubai for more than a decade.
