The second season of The Jace Ramos Domingo Fashion Show delivered a packed and celebrated night in Jeddah, closing with strong turnout, an enthusiastic audience, and recognition from Philippine Consulate personnel who praised how the collection carried Filipino heritage onto the runway.
Designer Jace Ramos Domingo staged the show on July 24 at Ramada Hotel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, under the theme “The Art of Becoming.” The evening moved through more than 60 looks spanning his professional collections, a Modern Filipino Fashion Segment, and a student presentation showcasing emerging designers he has trained, building toward a finale of his newest signature work.
The response in the room exceeded what Jace had expected, and the presence of Philippine Consulate representatives became one of the night’s defining moments.
“What made the event especially meaningful for me was the unexpected support from the Philippine Consulate,” he told TGFM. “I thought perhaps one or two representatives might attend, but I was overwhelmed to see a group of diplomats and consulate personnel present to witness the collection and how Filipino heritage was represented through fashion.”
As the show wrapped, a consulate staff member approached him with words he recalled directly.
“Congratulations. You presented the Philippines properly and left the audience happy and amazed with the collection,” Jace quoted the personnel as saying.
For the designer, the recognition confirmed that the show had landed with its audience and reached beyond the runway.
“That moment stayed with me because it made the success of the show feel bigger than the runway itself,” he said. “It became a story about Filipino representation, cultural pride, and presenting our heritage in a way that connected with an international audience.”
The season two format widened the show’s reach by pairing Jace’s own designs with the work of students trained in fashion design and dressmaking, giving emerging talent a place on the same catwalk. That emphasis on mentorship, combined with the Modern Filipino Fashion Segment and the closing signature collection, gave the audience a program that celebrated both craft and cultural pride in equal measure.
The Jeddah-based designer, who builds his work around blending Filipino cultural references with contemporary styling, has indicated he will share more from the July showcase, including additional photographs and video from the event.
