Filipino content creator Mico Banua joins UAE’s national anti-drug campaign

Dubai-based Filipino content creator Mico Banua, popularly known online as YourKuyaMico, has joined the UAE’s newly launched nationwide anti-drug awareness campaign, “Unifying Efforts to Eradicate the Affliction,” led by the National Drug Enforcement Authority (NDEA). The campaign aims to strengthen community awareness and protect young people from the growing threat of narcotics through a unified national effort involving families, schools, media, and government institutions.

Banua’s participation reflects the growing role of digital creators in promoting social awareness and community responsibility. Known for his engaging food, travel, and lifestyle content across the UAE, YourKuyaMico has built a strong following by showcasing local experiences, supporting small businesses, and highlighting community initiatives.

Launched in Dubai in conjunction with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the initiative emphasizes three key pillars: empowering families as the first line of defense, educating youth to make informed choices, and strengthening the role of schools in shaping positive values and behavior. The campaign also marks the NDEA’s new role as the central authority coordinating prevention, enforcement, rehabilitation, and treatment efforts across the UAE.

For Banua, lending his voice and platform to the anti-drug campaign underscores a shared message: combating drug abuse requires collective action, awareness, and the active participation of every sector of society.

The Dubai-based Filipino influencer has also appeared on regional television programs and lifestyle features, establishing himself as one of the prominent Filipino digital personalities in the Emirates.
