A farmer and his partner were shot dead early Saturday morning, December 28, while sleeping inside their home in Lopez, Quezon, Inquirer.net reported.
Police identified the victims as Armando Lapuz, 55, and Nelia Leona, 71, who were found lifeless in their bed in Barangay Calantipayan around 7 a.m. Both sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
Authorities are pursuing a suspect identified as “Danny Boy,” a resident of the same village, along with two alleged accomplices. Investigators believe the attack may be linked to a 2014 case where Lapuz was implicated in the killing of Danny Boy’s father, Angel Lopez.
The suspects reportedly fled the scene on a motorcycle. Police have launched a manhunt operation to apprehend those involved.
