Emirati officer makes history as first woman at Interpol

Captain Hagar Rashid Al Naeemi, a digital crime analyst from Abu Dhabi Police, has been appointed to work as a liaison officer at Interpol’s Innovation Centre in Singapore. Over the next three years, Captain Hagar will gain practical experience in cybercrime analysis on a global scale.

According to a Gulf News report, she is the first Emirati officer from the Middle East specializing in Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality and the first female officer from Abu Dhabi Police to join Interpol. The Innovation Centre focuses on developing advanced methods to combat international crime, with experts from various fields collaborating to share their expertise.

Major General Thani Batti Al Shamsi, director of the Saif bin Zayed Academy for Police and Security Sciences, expressed pride in Captain Hagar’s appointment, highlighting the international recognition of Abu Dhabi Police’s expertise and contributions to security and police work.

Captain Hagar holds a Master of Diplomacy with honors and a bachelor’s degree in information systems management. She started her career by checking electronic criminal records and later became the Director of the International Training Branch at the Centre for International Participations and Cooperation. She also served as Head of the Virtual Training Department at the Saif Bin Zayed Academy for Police and Security Sciences.

Throughout her career, Captain Hagar has received numerous awards, including the Commander-in-Chief’s Award for best police officer in the technical field. She has actively participated in various local and international conferences and exhibitions and played a significant role in the Abu Dhabi Police Youth Council.
