Snow sport enthusiasts across the UAE will get another shot at conquering Dubai’s chilliest endurance test when the Ice Warrior Challenge returns for its 17th staging on Sunday, September 20. Ski Dubai is running the event alongside the Dubai Sports Council, and organizers say early bird registration has already opened through Premier Online.
Competitors braving the -4°C arena inside the venue billed as the World’s Best Indoor Ski Resort will face upward of 20 obstacles built to test grit and cooperation. The lineup features rope walls, ice pools, monkey bars, tyre runs and net crawls, among other trials meant to reward teamwork and personal drive as much as raw speed.
Anyone who clears the course and hands back their timing chip walks away with a commemorative Ice Warrior medal and a souvenir T-shirt—tokens organizers frame as recognition of the nerve it takes to start rather than only the act of finishing.
Registration is split into three brackets. The Elite bracket, aimed at seasoned competitors targeting a sub-25-minute run, costs AED 250 at the early bird rate and AED 280 afterward. The Individual bracket, pitched at any fitness level, runs AED 200 early and AED 250 at standard pricing. Teams of four to six can enter at AED 185 per person early or AED 200 per person later, an option organizers suggest suits families, friend groups and corporate outfits.
The discounted early bird window stays open until August 15, after which standard pricing takes effect on August 16. Entries close on September 18. Participation is limited to men and women between the ages of 15 and 60.
Fresh for this year is a Spectator Pass priced at AED 50, giving supporters access to a dedicated viewing zone within the snow setting along with a complimentary hot drink. Organizers position the addition as a way for those not racing to still take part in the day.
The event drew more than 560 competitors representing 69 nationalities during its previous edition, a turnout Ski Dubai points to as evidence of the challenge’s appeal across the country’s mix of backgrounds and fitness levels.
