Dubai airports anticipate 3.3 million travelers over the coming days

Dubai International Airport (DXB) has issued a peak travel alert, anticipating a swell of 3.3 million travelers over the upcoming 13 days. As residents return following a two-month summer hiatus, airports throughout the nation are bracing for a significant increase in traffic.

To expedite the passport control process:

  1. Children between 4 and 12 years old can use dedicated counters at Terminals 1, 2, and 3 to stamp their passports independently.
Families with members over 12 years old are advised to use smart gates. Registered users at these gates only need to “look at the green light” without scanning any document, as detailed on Dubai Airports’ official website.
  2. The operator of DXB, the largest international airport globally, highlighted that daily traffic would average 258,000 passengers. Specifically, August 26 and 27 are projected to be the most hectic days, with an accumulated traffic surpassing half a million guests.

To ensure travelers have a smooth experience, DXB is coordinating extensively with airlines, control authorities, and various partners. Those fetching guests from DXB should utilize designated car parks or the valet services, as access to the Arrivals’ forecourts in Terminal 1 and 3 is restricted to authorized vehicles and public transport.

For avoiding congestion, the airport suggests:

  • Using the Dubai Metro during peak hours, accessible at DXB Terminals 1 and 3.
  • Opting for ride-hailing apps, taxis, or car rentals.

In 2022, DXB maintained its leading global position for international passenger traffic, welcoming a staggering 66 million passengers.
